Open Writing Magazine
Open Writing is a daily Web magazine which features stories, poems and articles from all parts of the world.
In particular it features work by members of U3A groups in Britain, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
The magazine’s editor, Peter Hinchliffe, who has run a writing and reminiscing class for Huddersfield U3A for the past 12 years, is always eager to receive new material. It can be e-mailed to peter@openwriting.com
Alternatively post items to:
Peter Hinchliffe, Oakes Fold, Town End Lane, Lepton, Huddersfield HD8 0NATo take a look at the magazine, visit the website at www.openwriting.com
A U3A member of the Alsager group has formed an orchestra and can accommodate additional players.
The group meets every Tuesday, 2-4pm in Alsager.
A modest standard of music reading is required. Music predominantly played is from popular shows such 'Oliver' and 'The Sound of Music'. It is suggested that if you currently play an instrument. (or used to play and would like to start again) this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Members of the Crewe and Nantwich group would also have to become members of the Alsager group. If you are interested, please e-mail margaretwat@googlemail.com in the first instance for further information - giving your preferred contact details.
You can visit tha Alsager U3A website at www.AlsagerU3A.org.uk.
