Astronomy

This group started up in September 2009 and is continuing to develop group. At it's foundation the leader, Brian Harborth, wrote on the following lines:-

Members of this this new Group have shown a broad range of interests, from simple star-gazing and identification to interest in the technologies used and the current theories on the formation and existences of various objects in Space.

In view, however, of the lengthy periods of light skies in the Summer months, basic observation needs to be left until late in the evening, if the sky is indeed clear.

I have chosen Thursdays as this is between fortnightly meetings of the local South Cheshire Astronomical Society (Scastro). This organisation has a dark site in Ravensmoor where our Telescopes can be assembled and the skies observed, along with social chat about matters celestial. At times they hold meetings undercover when the weather is unsuitable and all would be welcome there as well..
